Going Deep

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Psm 34:8

Until we experience the word of the Lord and Christ in our personal lives, we can never understand the depth and the revelation and the power behind His word.

It is like, a man watching the sea from the mountain top will exclaim “Wow! How beautiful is the sea, it is breath-taking and its view is spectacular”. A surfer goes into that same sea and takes a big ride on the perfect wave and have a different experience riding on the waves. Another person goes snorkelling to have a different view of the living creatures under the sea.

There is another group of people, who do not just stop with the surface but they take the boat to go inside the sea for fishing. Some use their fishing rod and some use their nets to catch more fish. Their experience will be completely different and return home with great satisfaction and with a reward. Also, there are a very few who would take the risk to go deep to get the pearl and valuable treasures from the bottom of the sea. They not only come out with the experience but also made wealth for themselves from that same sea.

The word of the Lord is the same in everyone’s hand and the nature of the Lord doesn’t change person to person but each one has a different experience.

“I returned and saw under the sun that— The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.” Ecc 9:11

We are all given the same opportunity and the same number of hours in our hand. But it depends on us how far and deep we are willing to go to know the Lord and to experience his power. We can stop with the long distance glance and walk off or we can go deeper to know Him more and walk out with great experience and become a blessing to others.

Continue to experience the love of the Lord in a new way every day and be bold to ask the Lord to take deeper to enjoy His presence. Let the word of God be not just words in the pages of the bible but as we apply faith knowing His nature, it becomes hope in times of distress, encouragement in times of darkness, medicine to our body and life to revive the dead dreams and visions. These pearls will become valuable to us and become a blessing to others as well.

Knowing Christ at the deeper level will enable us to know how good the Lord is even at the toughest of times. Let us go after this treasure that cannot be compared to anything else in this world.
