Noah builds an Altar
And the waters prevailed on the earth 150 days (Gen 7:24). It was not an easy boat ride for him, he had to be locked up in his boat for nearly 5 months with all the animals. Once the water receded, all the animals went out by families from the ark.
“Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. (21) And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man…. (Gen 20:20,21)
The first thing that Noah did, after coming out of the ark was that he offered burnt offering as a sign of thanksgiving to the Lord. He not only would have thanked God for saving him and his family from the floods but also for the future generation that is going to come thru his family.
When giving thanks, thank Him for the things He has helped us thru and also for the unknown blessed future He has in store for us.
After the Lord, smelled the pleasing aroma, God made a decision not to curse the ground because of man or destroy every living creature.
Through building altars of prayer and sacrifice of thanksgiving, we not only move the heart of God to bless our land (Nation), our surrounding and our family, but also interceding for our future and for the generation to come to be blessed.
